Precise cutting and forming of openings in walls, floors, and concrete structures across Kildare and Ireland — for doors, windows, ventilation, services, and access.
Cutting structural openings requires more than a powerful tool — it demands an understanding of load paths, structural behaviour, and the consequences of getting it wrong. At FB Coring Concrete & Demolition, we combine diamond-blade precision with experience on domestic and commercial projects to deliver clean, controlled openings every time.
Whether you need a new doorway cut through a solid concrete wall, a window opening enlarged in a brick facade, or an access point formed in a floor slab, we plan and execute the cut with minimal disruption to the surrounding structure. Every opening is measured, marked, and cut to exact specification — straight lines, clean edges, no uncontrolled cracking.
We work on residential extensions, commercial fit-outs, industrial facilities, and renovation projects throughout Kildare, Leinster, and beyond. If an opening needs to be formed, we have the equipment and the expertise to do it right.
Kildare
From residential extensions to commercial fit-outs, structural openings are required across a wide range of building types and project types.
Every structural opening project follows a structured process to ensure accuracy, safety, and a finish that's ready for the next stage of your build or renovation.
For any opening in a load-bearing wall, we strongly recommend obtaining a structural engineer's assessment and specification beforehand. We are happy to work from engineer's drawings and will flag any discrepancies we observe on site. For non-load-bearing partitions, an engineer's sign-off may not be required, but always check with your architect or building control officer.
A standard door opening (900×2100mm) in a 150–215mm concrete or block wall typically takes 2–4 hours from set-up to clean-up, depending on wall thickness, reinforcement, and site conditions. We always provide a realistic time estimate before starting so you can plan your programme accordingly.
Yes. Our diamond-blade equipment is specifically designed to cut through reinforced concrete, including heavily reinforced sections. We scan for rebar positions prior to cutting and our cut plan accounts for reinforcement to maintain structural integrity while achieving the exact opening dimension required.
Our diamond cutting process uses water suppression as standard, which significantly reduces airborne dust compared to dry cutting or breaking. We also use dust extraction equipment and protect the surrounding work area. There will be some slurry and debris from the cut sections, which we manage and remove as part of our clean-up process before leaving site.
Yes. We extract and break down the cut sections on site and can arrange removal as part of our service. For large or heavy sections, we plan the extraction sequence before cutting to ensure safe removal — including temporary propping where required.
