Precise cutting and removal of concrete floors and slabs across Kildare and Ireland — for trenching, drainage, utility works, alterations, and layout changes.
Floor sawing is one of the most frequently required concrete cutting operations on construction and renovation projects — and one of the least forgiving if done poorly. An imprecise cut, an overrun, or an unstable trench edge can set a programme back by days and introduce risk to the structure and the workforce.
At FB Coring Concrete & Demolition, we use self-propelled diamond floor saws to cut through concrete slabs, screed, and aggregate bases with consistent depth control and a straight, clean finish. Whether you need a single trench for a drainage run or a series of cuts across a large industrial floor, we deliver accurate results at pace — minimising downtime and keeping your project on schedule.
We work on residential, commercial, and industrial projects throughout Kildare, Dublin, and Leinster. Our equipment handles slabs from 50mm domestic screeds through to heavily reinforced industrial floors over 400mm deep.
Kildare
From domestic drainage installations to large-scale commercial floor alterations, floor sawing is required across an extensive range of project types.
Efficient, methodical, and clean — our floor sawing process is built to minimise disruption and maximise accuracy from the first mark to the final clean-up.
Our floor saws can cut to depths of up to 400mm+ in a single pass with large-diameter blades. For deeper cuts or thicker industrial slabs, we can make two parallel cuts and break the core. We will confirm achievable depth before quoting, based on your slab specification and the reinforcement layout.
Before cutting, we carry out a buried services check using scanning equipment where available, and we request as-built drawings from the site team. Our depth control is set conservatively to avoid overrunning the slab base. However, it is ultimately the client's responsibility to identify the location of all buried services before work begins, and we ask that this is confirmed in writing before we start cutting.
Yes. Diamond floor saw blades are designed specifically to cut through reinforced concrete. The diamond segment specification is selected based on the concrete mix and reinforcement density. Cutting through heavy reinforcement takes longer and requires more blade changes, which we account for in our pricing and time estimates.
Standard floor saw blade kerf is approximately 4–6mm for a single cut. For wider trenches, we make two parallel cuts at the required trench width and break out the section between. We can discuss specific width requirements when you contact us for a quote.
Yes — section removal and disposal can be included as part of our service. We break out the cut sections, size them for safe manual handling, and remove them from the floor. Slurry produced by the wet-cutting process is also cleaned up before we leave site.
